Reta Quinlan in her 71st year died Monday, February 3, 2014 at Barrie's RVH with her family by her side. Born to the late Fred & Alice Rutherford of Midland, Reta attended the local high school and spent her working career with Bell Canada. She married the late Ross Quinlan in 1967 and lived in Mississauga, Midland and finally Barrie while raising their three daughters, Susan, Jennifer & Alicia. Reta held a very close relationship with her daughters families; Susan Bradley & partner John Clarke, Jennifer Quinlan; and Alicia & Dave Blow and her wonderful grandchildren Hank Bradley & fiancee Sarah Clarke, Maxx Bradley; Travis & Ben Duivenvoorden and Ashley & Erica Blow. Reta is the sister of Bob & Joyce Rutherford, Theo & Garry Hamelin, Liz & Bob Addison, Everett & Barb Meek and the late Paul Rutherford and sister in law of Marian Stubbings and Keith & Andree Quinlan and the late Garth and Bert Quinlan.
A celebration of life mass will be held at St. Mary's Church 65 Amelia St., Barrie on Saturday February 8, 2014 at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Canadian Liver Foundation www.liver.ca. A reception will be held in the Parish hall immediately following the mass and all are welcome to join with family and friends at that time.
Reta will be sadly missed.
