My mom passed peacefully and with joy around 5:30 pm on Sunday, April 3, 2016, as her granddaughter had just won a National Championship in Cheerleading minutes before. She parted knowing we were all OK, and would have not have wanted tears, but rather, a coffee and slice of cake, or better yet, a schnapps!
Emi requested to be cremated and half of her will be with Opa (my dad - Alfred Wanner, in their urn), while the other half of both of their ashes will be spread across the oceans (they loved to cruise together, but she stipulated that she wanted warm water, not the shores of Simcoe!!!!) over the coming years. We will be having a celebration of both their lives at a later (warmer) date, most likely in the area.
Shortly, I will be looking for a venue that is bright (not a funeral home) where we may welcome family, friends and acquaintances of my parents that would serve something with a European flair.... I will be asking people to bring their memories to document, and if possible, a photo or two that I can add to their photo album! If you know of a place, please let me know.....
