Ronald Edward Shepherd
March 19, 1953 – May 22, 2017
Ronald Edward Shepherd. It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Ronald Edward Shepherd on May 22, 2017, at the age of 64, after his long battle with Dementia. He passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side at Victoria Village in Barrie. Ronald was born in Toronto on March 19, 1953 to Ruth and Richard Shepherd.
Beloved husband of Beverly Shepherd. Loving father of Nicole Adams (Rob), Ryan Shepherd and Jennifer Shepherd and proud Papa of Brodin. Cherished brother to Rick Shepherd (Sandra), Randy Shepherd (Pamela) and Raymond Shepherd (Victoria). Ronald will be dearly missed by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Ruth and Richard Shepherd.
Ronald had a successful career as a business owner in the automotive industry and a passion for building beautiful cottages in Penetanguishene. The last cottage built by his hands was a log cabin that he was so very proud of. He was described by his family and friends as being an extremely caring and loving person who would light up a room the moment he walked in. He had a passion for life that was admired by all and his humour was one that left many in tears of laughter. His hobbies included boating, water skiing, jet skiing, knee boarding - pretty much any activity that involved water. He also loved his vintage cars, playing volleyball, and watching hockey. He was a die-hard Toronto Maple Leafs fan until the end. But, what he absolutely loved most in life was spending his spare time with family and friends whom he all treasured so dearly.
In honour of Ronald, his family is holding a celebration of life service at Barrie Southshore Community Centre on Friday June 9th from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. where family and friends will raise a glass in his memory.
