HURST, Gordon Arthur
Passed away peacefully at Hospice Simcoe in Barrie on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at the age of 65. Beloved husband of Catalina Hurst (nee Pator). Loving father of Paula Hurst, Gordon Jones, Orlan Dela Cruz (Rejane Chiva), Grace Pator and Michelle Pator. Cherished grandfather of Shantelle, Skyller and Seann Dela Cruz. Hannah Clanchard and Carter Jones. Dear brother of Bert-Deceased (Betty) Hurst, Doris (Stan-deceased) King, Ida (Aubrey-deceased) McGarvey, Edward (Hillary) Hurst, Harvey (Claire) Hurst, Daniel (Jenny) Hurst, Mary Giran, Ruth (John) Ditchburn, Lorraine Mercedi, Sharon (Jim-Deceased) Dixon, David (Evelyn) Hurst, Paul (Grace) Hurst, Raymond (Norma) Hurst and Sid (Charlotte) Hurst. Pre-deceased by Mom, Dad and Richard Hurst. All his nieces, nephews and friends will miss him.
In keeping with Gordon’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A come and go celebration will be held on Sunday, August 20, 2017 from 2-4 p.m. at Peaceful Transition Inc., 431 Bayview Drive, Barrie. A celebration of life will be held at Catalina Hurst’s home. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations can be made to Catalina Hurst. He truly cared about those he loved and family was most important to him. We all have fond memories of our times together growing up and as grown-ups. We also want you to know how much we appreciate your love, support and care for him, especially during his illness. You were the rock of his life. May he now rest in peace. He will be greatly missed.
