KUSLAK, Theresa (Mary)
It is with great sadness to announce the loss of our mother and loving grandmother. In her 102nd year, Theresa passed away peacefully and in comfort at Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie on December 28 2017.
She was born in the rural municipality of BiFrost, Manitoba on April 20, 1916 and was the last surviving member of her family of five brothers and four sisters. A proud, strong willed and independent woman, Theresa was a long-time resident of Toronto where she lived for more than 60 years. Through many challenges and struggles Theresa proved to be hardworking, dedicated, and devoted. She moved to Barrie in 1997 at age 81 and resided with her daughter and grandson until hospitalized by stroke. Theresa, a personally private person, was predeceased by family and lifetime friends. She leaves behind a daughter, grandson, nieces, nephews and extended family.
Thank you to the palliative care team at RVH for care and comfort, to family doctor of 20 years, Dr. Poonja and all PSWs and home nursing staff from St. Elizabeth Health Care. A special thank you to Father Gustave of St. Marys RC Church for providing last rites and finally Peaceful Transitions Funeral Services for making a difficult and heartbreaking time uncomplicated. Cremation was preformed on January 4, 2018. Internment to be at a later date.
