Samuel “Sam” Turtle

December 22, 1953 - March 21, 2021

Funeral Details:

It is with sadness in my heart that I announce the passing of Sam Turtle, my husband and the love of my life.  Sam passed away peacefully on March 21, 2021 at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre following a brief illness.  Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland on December 22, 1953, he was the only son of Sam Turtle and Harriet (Burrows).  Sam was 67 years of age when he passed.

Sam will be lovingly remembered by his wife and life companion of 25 years, Mary Stearns (nee Roberts), his sister Joan Turtle, his two step kids and their spouses, Shawn Stearns and his wife Heidi (nee Clark) and Pauline Canonico (nee Stearns) and her husband Fernando and their five beautiful children, Nolan and Abby Stearns and Anthony, Sophia and Rocco Canonico.  Sam will fondly be remembered by his two nephews Sam and Stephen Monardo, his sister-in-law Joanne Moore and her husband Gary and sister-in-law Linda Anderson and her husband Don along with several nieces and nephews.

Sam loved his friends and family and was instrumental in organizing many a fishing trip, golf tournament and/or backyard BBQ for the sole purpose of bringing everyone together.  He loved to hold court in his garage where everyone was welcome to express passionate views and their comical observations.  His witty sardonic, realistic opinions, jokes and generosity will be deeply missed by all of his friends.
