It is with heartfelt sadness, that the family of Donald announce his passing at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, in Barrie, Ontario.
Dear son of the late Lorette and Garnet Allen. Beloved husband of Nancy (nee Wood) for 50 years. Loving father of Marnie (Tyler) and Jeff (Kelly). Cherished poppa of Evan and Nyla. Brother of Nancy, and the late Rick Young (Iren). He will be sadly missed by many family members and friends.
Don was born in Sudbury, then lived in North Bay, Hornepayne, Capreol, London, and Barrie. He worked for CN Rail as a Signal Maintainer until his retirement in 2000. He enjoyed his beautiful Camp on the Sturgeon River, fishing with his Grandchildren (Evan and Nyla), driving his trails in his side-by-side (the Cat) and cutting grass on his John Deere.
At Don’s request, cremation has taken place, followed by private family arrangements.

As a long time friend of Barb and Joe’s, I remember many happy times with you and Don. Good memories of Grand Bend weekend. Friendships that last longer than 50 years are special. RIP Don and
thank you both for the unforgettable good memories.

Posted on: Thursday, September 15, 2022Dear Nancy and Family,
My deepest condolences to you all. I have nothing but wonderful memories of Don, both from our time in Capreol and the years spent in Toronto together. Don will always be fondly remembered for his smiles and great sense of humour. He was an individual who was always there for you when the chips were down and would support you at any time you needed him.
May he rest in eternal peace. Goodbye my friend. Till we meet again.
