William “Bill” David Nicholson

February 10, 1949 - June 6, 2025

Funeral Details: Private family arrangements

Passed away peacefully on June 6, 2025, at the age of 76.

Beloved son of the late William and Elizabeth Nicholson.  Cherished brother of Maureen (Warren); and uncle of Aaron and Devon.  Dear cousin of Sherri (Chester), their son Jay (Lisa), and their son Kael; and cousin of Eddie (Dianne), their children, and grandchildren.  Bill will also be missed and fondly remembered by his special friend Patricia, family friend Doris, and his lifelong friend David.

To say that Bill loved sports would be an understatement—he was a devoted sports enthusiast.  Throughout his life, he played hockey, baseball, curling, and especially bowling.  In his younger years, he was an active member of several bowling leagues in Toronto.  His passion for sports carried through to the very end, as he was watching a baseball game when he passed.

Bill had a deep love for animals, particularly cats.  Over the years, he shared his home with many feline companions.  His beloved cat, Bella, is now in the loving hands of Maureen and Warren, who will continue to care for her as Bill would have wanted.

Despite facing over 20 years of health challenges, Bill was a fighter.  He approached his medical journey with courage and without complaint.  Remarkably, he was on dialysis for many years—far longer than most—demonstrating his incredible resilience.

Above all, Bill loved his family.  He treasured family gatherings and the time spent together during holidays such as Christmas, Easter, and Thanksgiving.

In keeping with Bill’s wishes, cremation has taken place.  His urn will be laid to rest with his mother in the family plot at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Toronto at a later date.
