Passed away peacefully with family by her side on July 2, 2025, at the age of 85 years.

Daughter of the late Edith MacDonald.  Beloved mother of April (Cam), and the late Andrew and Margo.  Proud grandma of Michael (Nicole), Blake, and cherished great-grandma of Madison and Jack.  Much loved sister of Tom (Flo), Marilyn (the late Owen), and Robert.  June will also be fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews Karen, Chris, Todd, Alex, and many great-nieces and nephews.

June will also be missed by her special friend, Heather (Richard), who was like family to her.  Heather was a great support to June and her family.

June was strong and independent, right from a very young age.  She was capable, resourceful, and did well for herself throughout her life.  She enjoyed travelling in her younger years, both within Canada and abroad.  She had a great sense of humour and wit.  June loved making people laugh and bringing smiles to those around her.

She spent much of her early life in the Niagara Region, later settling for over 20 years at Sandycove Acres Community in Innisfil, and most recently residing at the Coleman Care Centre in Barrie for nearly three years.

In keeping with June’s wishes, cremation has taken place.

A Celebration of June's Life will take place on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at The Wheel, in Sandy Cove Acres (south entrance off Lockhart Rd: 2 Weeping Willow Dr, Innisfil, ON). Food will be served with tea and coffee.

The family extends heartfelt thank you to the staff at the Coleman Care Centre.  June’s final years were filled with kindness and comfort thanks to their compassionate care.  She was truly treated like family, and the support from all departments at Coleman was deeply appreciated.

In memory of June, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Simcoe County https://alzheimer.ca/simcoecounty/en.
