Murray Martin Laycock

July 7, 2025 - April 10, 1953

Funeral Details: A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Passed away peacefully at Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital on Monday July 7, 2025 at the age of 72, following a lengthy and courageous battle. Murray has now been reunited with his wife and soulmate, the late Debbie Laycock (Gillespie).

Murray was born in Alliston Ontario on April 10, 1953 to the late Rita and Martin Laycock.   Murray spent most of his adult life living in Oro, Orillia and Angus. He leaves behind sons Ty Pollock (Chantal) and Greg Pollock (Sandy) and grandchildren Genevieve, Breanna, Tristyn, Braden, Brodie, Lacey and Kayden.

Murray is also survived by his siblings Sharon Sage, Sheila Finch, Mary Jo Leduc, Elaine Laycock, Bob Laycock, in-laws Gail Robinson, Joanne Wallace and Bill Wallace.  Murray also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who have fond memories of the special times they spent with him over the years.

Murray loved to work.  He drove truck for many years and when he wasn’t working, loved to travel around discovering new places in his spare time. He would be happy to help anyone out who needed it and loved to tell stories to everyone he spoke to.

He loved to spend time with his nieces and nephews when they were younger and then found great pleasure in spoiling his grandchildren and showing them all unconditional love.  Murray lit up when he spoke about them as they were his world. He always seemed to have change in his pocket or knew where the good treats were hidden!  He loved to spoil his loved ones and he made everyone who knew him feel special.

A special thanks to friends John and Rhonda for their love and support over the years and for everything they did for Murray and his family.

Cremation has taken place and in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choosing.
