Andrew James Atkinson

January 1, 1989 - July 23, 2025

Funeral Details: A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

With heavy hearts we announce the unexpected passing of Andrew James, on July 23, 2025, at the age of 36.

Cherished son of Clayton (Jennifer) and Anne.

Beloved partner of Larissa, and proud, devoted father of son Jonathon.

Brother of Amanda, Shannon, and Belinda and loyal friend to many.

Andrew worked hard as a landscaper and found comfort in the simplicity of home life and comfort in quiet moments.  A true homebody, he cherished peaceful days with his family and loved being outdoors, fishing with his dad and family. He had a cheeky sense of humour and often laughed at his own jokes, even when they missed the mark.  A trait inherited from his Grandfather Ivan.

Andrew had a deep love and extraordinary compassion for animals, whether furry, feathered or even scaly.  His love for the natural world extended far beyond his profession

He was a kind and helpful spirit, never hesitating to help a friend, co-worker or family. He gave freely, loved deeply and had a wonderful, gentle soul

Cremation has taken place.  A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date so we can honour the man we knew and loved deeply.

In honour of Andrew’s love for animals, donations may be made to the Barrie OSPCA or Furry Friends Animal Shelter.

Online memories and condolences and messages of comfort may be shared with the family at www.peacefultransition.ca.

Andrew, you were the love of my life, my partner, my constant through the highs and lows. Our journey wasn’t perfect, but our love was real. I will forever cherish our memories the laughter, the tears, and most of all, the beautiful gift you left me in our son, Jonathon. You will always be with us. He will always grow up to know what a kind and loving man his father was-

Rest peacefully, my love- until we see you again.

To the moon and back again xo
