It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Larry Newbold, who left us peacefully on September 28th, 2025.

Born on January 10, 1948, in Weston Ontario, Larry made and maintained many friendships from a young age.  He believed “you are who you walk with” which illustrates the many incredible friends that he has to this very day.

He was a devoted husband, dad, grandfather, always placing his family at the center of his world. His warmth, sense of humor, and steady guidance will be remembered and cherished by those whose lives he shaped.

Larry had a lifelong passion for sports, leading to many personal and professional achievements. He grew up playing hockey, later to become an avid golfer travelling the world playing the game he so loved. A fanatic of the Yankees, Green Bay Packers and Chicago Blackhawks, Larry cheered with passion for his teams.

He will be deeply missed by his wife Jo-Ann, daughter A.J., son-in-law Greg and grandson Owen, as well as extended family and many dear friends.

A Celebration of Larry’s Life will be held on Saturday October 18th, 2025, at The Nottawasaga Inn Resort and Conference Centre (Starlight Lounge) located at 6015 ON-89, Alliston, ON from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in his honor to Matthews House Hospice.

Though he has departed this world, Larry’s love and spirit will remain with us always.

Larry was a great friend, mentor, and colleague. He was always there for me through the good times and the rough ones. Good times were always had on the golf course and at the pub for an afternoon meeting. Thanks for being my Pal!
