It is with great sadness that the family of Nancy Emms announce her passing on Wednesday, December 23rd, peacefully at IOOF Seniors Home, Barrie, at the age of 89. Nancy was predeceased by her loving husband, Jack, on November 28th, 2024. They were married on the 16th of March 1956 in Barrie, and from that day forward, they were inseparable. They are now reunited forever on another path.
Nancy was immensely proud of her three children; Stephen Emms (Dorothy), Danny Emms and Linda Marley (Wayne), her seven grandchildren; Jessica Brown (Porter), Brittaney Emms-Richards (Luke), Lucas Emms (Molly), Julia Gibbons (Luke), Jennifer Sollory (Jordan), Cory Marley Emms (Candice), and Dana Marley (Rob Van Ballegooijen). She loved her eleven great-grandchildren: Ellery Brown, Claria Brown, Lennox Brown, Adeline Richards, Lilah Richards, Holland Gibbons, Hadlee Myles, Brodie Myles, Cloe Marley Emms, Grayson Marley Emms, and Lenora Van Ballegooijen.
Her father, Joe Harradine, and mother, Helen (Rowen), raised nine children. She is preceded by her brothers, Joe, Johnny, and George and her sisters, Elva, Jennie, Isobel, and Kathleen. She is survived by her dear brother Alex.
Nancy was a person filled with joy and love. Her home was always open to everyone. Nancy and Jack loved to camp with their little family and had many adventures. Together, they built a camp on Wawashkesh Lake, creating treasured memories that will live forever.
One could not have asked for a better person as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Nancy will be missed forever, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all those who knew her.
Our family would like to humbly thank all those who provided care for our mother during her time at the IOOF Seniors home.
In place of flowers and in honour of the special people in Nancy’s life who have been affected by cancer, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society .
