It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Mavor, who left us peacefully on January 27, 2026, at the age of ninety-four.
Born in 1931 to James Edward Tuttle and Janetta Marshall, Margaret is predeceased by her siblings Ernest, Dorothy Wheeler, Donald, Frances Mavor, Alfred, Albert, and John.
After marrying Thomas Speirs Mavor (1922-2005) in 1950, she became a devoted mother to Gail Sanders and Susan Mavor-Hope, cherished grandmother to Alyson Sanders, Michael and Laura Hope, and a great-grandmother with many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
She was definitely an independent fun-loving woman while working hard alongside her husband to make a good life for the family and a welcome home for friends. Her family was of great importance, and she took immense pride in their accomplishments and interest in their happiness. She loved music and believed in always looking presentable. Her belief in “Live Your Life” summed up her existence.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Sunset Manor for their compassionate care in Margaret’s final months.
Margaret will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She will reside with her husband Tom at Lakeview Cemetery in Midland in the spring.
May we cherish her in memory and let her legacy continue to inspire us all.
