It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Elizabeth Anne Corcoran on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at the age of 89, in Barrie, Ontario.

Born in England, Anne moved to Canada in 1977.  She briefly moved back to England and returned permanently in 1982, settling in North York, Toronto, where she quickly immersed herself into the community.

Anne had a successful career in book-keeping with three different companies in Toronto, retiring in 2006.

Anne became a devoted member of St. David’s Anglican Church in North York, serving as the church treasurer.  In 2006, she moved to Barrie, Ontario, where she became an integral part of St. George’s Anglican Church, dedicating and contributing wholeheartedly to her church community, including being part of the altar guild.

She had a deep passion for quilting and Bunka embroidery and created many beautiful pieces, including flowers, ships and birds.

Anne made many trips back to England, including The Isle of White, and she travelled across Canada and the Caribbean.

Anne is predeceased by her parents and her brother from England.  She leaves behind many friends, including Stephen and Karen Handley and family, who had the privilege of being alongside her since arriving in Canada, and cared for her in her later years.

Anne was incredibly independent, resilient, loving and generous.  She will be deeply missed by many friends and family.

A Celebration of Anne’s Life will take place in early Spring of 2026 at St. Georges Anglican Church (9 Granville St, Barrie, Ontario).  Details to come on a later date.

In lieu of flowers, Anne asked that donations be made to The Canadian Diabetes Association  or to St. George's Anglican Church.
