It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Barbara (Barb) Law on Friday, May 1, 2026, following a brief battle with colon cancer.  During her final days, Barb was surrounded by her family, closest friends, and an abundance of love.

Barb was a truly special soul who dedicated her life to the people and communities she loved.  A natural mentor and friend, she made a lasting impact through her long-standing involvement with the Girl Guides.  In 2023 she was honoured with an Ontario Volunteer Service Award for her 45 years of service in Guiding, where she helped shape the lives of many young women through her passion for sisterhood, camping, and crafting.  She also found great joy within the Red Hat community, embracing life with flair and warmth.  To know Barb was to feel seen, cared for, and supported.

Barb is now reunited with her devoted husband, Bruce Law. She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Nettleton; her mother, Betty Nettleton; and her sister, Valerie Millar.  Her family imagines her finally back in a campsite she loved, surrounded by those she missed most, including her beloved dogs, Kali and Kristi.

She is survived by her step-daughter, April; her step-granddaughter, Katy (Tyler); and step-great-grandchildren, Ally, Layla, and Ella.  Her memory will be cherished by her siblings, Douglas and David (Tracey), as well as her nieces and nephew, Monica, Andrea, Adam (Sheena), and Karen.  Barb also leaves behind her great-nephews, Jayden, Sawyer, Trey and Xavier, along with a wide circle of extended family and friends who were truly like family.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 6th at Ferndale Banquet Hall in Barrie from 1:00 - 4:00pm to honour Barb's vibrant spirit.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Girl Guides Canada Community 32 or the ALS Society of Canada.
