Anna Larocque passed away on June 3, 2026, at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH), with her daughter and son-in-law by her side.
Her last six months were difficult. Anna was moved to Barrie by her daughter, Rosemary, who ensured she was kept as comfortable as possible during her remaining time.
Anna was predeceased by her husband, James, on March 4, 2026. James must have been getting impatient, as she passed away just three days before what would have been their 67th wedding anniversary on June 6.
An avid quilter, Anna deeply valued the companionship of her “quilting girls”. They kept her active and gave her a reason to get out and about. T he many quilts she created throughout her life each carry a story and will remain cherished keepsakes for her family and friends.
Anna loved to feel the sun on her face, a gentle breeze, and the scenery of Lake Huron. At the end of the day, the big red ball was a welcome sight.
Above all, Anna was dedicated to her grandchildren. She took great pride in watching them grow and shared her own unique words of wisdom with each of them.
She will be missed by Chris, Rosemary (Chris), David (Paula), Sasha (Bri), Carolyn, Justin, Geoff, Patricia, Noah, and Simon.

Our deepest condolences to you and the entire family. Your mom and dad were lovely and we all especially enjoyed seeing Anne every week getting her hair done. Your dad always came along to pick her up when she was ready. They were two of a kind!

Posted on: Tuesday, June 9, 2026I like many new members of the Sarnia Guild didn’t know Anna. (Her smile I seem to recall but maybe not from the Guild). Anyway, I seen her talent first hand with a baggie of beautiful Christmas squares I picked up from her stash. Anna’s generosity left many Sarnia Guild Members thankful with her quilting materials (Stash); these gifts of material will help the Sarnia Guild Members be able to provide more comfort to our community thru our many projects. I personally will be making a quilt and a few pillowcases with her material I was able to receive. Thank you Anna. Rest in Peace and Thank-you to your wonderful family. Until we sew again.

Posted on: Saturday, June 13, 2026While we – 25 years younger – waited for ideal conditions, Anna and Jim would be out in the lake almost every day. Anna often came down the street for a chat (or maybe a break from Jim lol) . We’ll certainly miss them. Condolences to all the family, RIP Anna

Posted on: Tuesday, June 16, 2026Our deepest condolences to Anna and Jim’s family. We moved to the Beach Lane neighbourhood 10 years ago and quickly got to know Anna and Jim. My late mother was a friend of Anna’s through the Sarnia Quilters Guild and we would often chat about quilting. It was easy to see quilting was a true passion for her. I will fondly remember them both through our visits while Jim tended his garden, delivering Christmas treats or while attending the annual Canada Day parade. Lovely people that will be missed.
