It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Beverley Jean Miller, who passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Roberta Place Long Term Care Home in Barrie.

She is survived by her loving spouse of 48 years, Kathy Dalziel, as well as her daughter Stephanie Miller (Edmonton, Alberta).

Known to most simply as “Bev”, she spent her 81 years of life sharing with us her sense of humour and a quiet, easygoing acceptance that enriched the lives of others.  To know her was to smile with her, laugh with her, and to enjoy quiet moments of mischief together.  Life was never boring with Bev around, and we are grateful for the chance to have joined her for the ride in her game of life.

Bev took great pride in her work as a tow motor operator at Lepage in Brampton, and during her working years also served as President of the Energy and Chemical Workers Union Local 819.  She moved to Barrie with Kathy upon retirement, where they both enjoyed their years together, whether traveling the world, caring for their beloved schnauzers, or enjoying a Tim’s coffee on a road trip.

She will be remembered fondly and missed by all who loved her, and leaves behind memories of laughter and shenanigans for all of her extended family, which includes four sets of brothers- and sisters-in-law, as well as twelve nieces and nephews, all of whom are now grown, some with families, partners, and children of their own.

We are very grateful for the compassionate care provided by the staff at Roberta Place, Home Area Four.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 65 Amelia Street, Barrie, ON.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to the Barrie Food Bank or a charity of your choice.
