With hearts full of gratitude for the time we shared, we honor the remarkable life of our father, Carl Arthur “Bud” Hodgins. He passed away peacefully on June 24, 2026 at the age of 84 from cancer at Matthew’s House in Alliston Ontario.
Born in Windsor Ontario, Carl lived with purpose, courage, and an unshakable belief in the power of perseverance. He faced challenges with strength, embraced opportunities with enthusiasm, and inspired everyone around him to live fully and love deeply.
Carl built more than a career in ambulance as a supervisor of driver training; he built a legacy of integrity, kindness, and determination. His greatest achievement was not measured in titles or accolades, but in the lives he touched and the values he instilled in his family.
He is survived by his wife Donna, children Cindy (Art), Lance (Emily), Troy (Kim), grandchildren Kody (Abigail), Chaze (Willow), Connor, Austin, Steven (Adrienne), Katherine (Devin) and great grandchildren Navy, Clover and Riley, who will carry forward his lessons and his light. He is predeceased by his son Tyronne, brother Terry and his parents William and Helen.
A living celebration of life took place on Saturday June 13, where Carl was surrounded by family and friends while they shared laughter, stories and the warmth of friendly faces. This was an opportunity to thank those he loved, offer words of encouragement, share reflections on his life, and enjoy meaningful moments with the people who mattered most.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to Matthew's House would be greatly appreciated.
Though he is no longer with us in person, his spirit remains a guiding force, reminding us to live boldly, love generously, and never stop believing in what’s possible.
