God has you in his arms, we have you in our hearts.
It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our Mom, Maureen Noseworthy.
Mom passed away peacefully at Hospice Simcoe, July 6, 2026.
Predeceased by her devoted partner Ross. Mother to Debbie Cunningham (Kevin),
Don Noseworthy (Wendy) and Kevin Noseworthy (Judie). Predeceased by her much beloved daughter Sharon and their father Kevin Francis Noseworthy.
Beloved nanny to Brian, Andrea, Matthew, Mark, James, Andrew, Kate, Amy, Dylan and Bonnie. Great nanny to Taylor, Kennedy, Boston, Emma, Jacob, Lily, Molly, Jayden, Isaac, Annie and Sam.
Mom was her family’s last surviving sibling and was predeceased by sisters, Joan, Patricia, her twin sister Doris, and brothers Frank, Jim and Wayne and their parents Stella and Jack Crotty, of Newfoundland.
To our longtime friend Jake Ewan, you have an uncanny sense of always knowing what mom needed, and always being there when she needed it. You are a shining light and we can never thank you enough for your kindness, thoughtfulness and unwavering support thru the years. She so enjoyed your times reminiscing and remembering all the good times with Marg and Ross, and always counting on your 60 year history of friendship.
A true Newfie through and through our mom loved all kinds of stories and traditions from her beloved Newfoundland. Always ready to “just pop in” whenever she saw a flying Newfie flag, as if it were an automatic invitation to meet a new friend.
Mom loved to keep up with family from “home” and to all those nieces and nephews and friends who kept in touch, your calls and texts meant the world to her. You raised her up. She had a deep love for family, near and far and always said “you can take the girl out of Newfoundland but you’ll never take Newfoundland out of this girl”. She was so right.
She leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories, enduring love, and a family that spans generations.
It took a village the last few years of mom’s life. The family would like to thank the entire team at Simcoe Community Paramedicine Program, who, for 3 years provided care and comfort, and who ironically, the team of Stephanie, Jessica and her dear Christos showed up and provided her with great laughs and fond memories on her final day, she hugged you guys hard.
To the many layers of Ontario Health at Home for providing everything mom needed to stay in her home as long as she could, special mention and much gratitude to St. Elizabeth Psw’s, in particular her faithful psw Angie, her supportive and most compassionate nurse Angel, and Dr. Cindi Cohen who made it all make sense.
And to Hospice Simcoe, thank you for giving mom such outstanding care, attention and dignity during her final days. And thank you for providing the same care and comfort to our family and visiting friends.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day…..Unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed, and very dear.
Peaceful Transition Simcoe
