It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Justine Eleanor Barranger, who passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at the age of 40.

Born on November 12, 1985, Justine was a deeply caring, compassionate, and empathetic person who loved fiercely and gave generously of herself to others. Though she faced ongoing health challenges in recent years, she continued to move forward with remarkable strength and determination, always hoping for brighter days ahead.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. Her family will be honouring her life with a Celebration of Life; details will be shared with family and close friends.

Justine will be forever loved and deeply missed by her fiancé, Adam Penny; her parents, Todd and Lorraine Barranger; her siblings, Andrew (Danielle) and Chelsea (Andrew); her nieces, Katelyn and Evelyn; Tom and Louise Penny; her beloved dog, Winston; and her and Adam’s extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins; and her cherished friends, who became family through the love, laughter, and memories they shared together.

Justine was a woman of many interests and contradictions in the very best way. She loved music, movies, and keeping up with the latest celebrity gossip. She had a unique sense of style and was unapologetically herself. One day she might be drawn to band shirts, alternative music, and studded accessories, and the next she would be embracing her love of fashion, makeup, and all things sparkly. She never felt the need to fit into just one box, combining edge and glamour in a way that was entirely her own. Above all else, she loved her family and friends deeply and was often more concerned with caring for others than herself.

Those who knew Justine will remember her sense of humour, her kind spirit, and her extraordinary capacity for empathy. She felt things deeply and wore her heart on her sleeve. It was never difficult to make Justine cry, whether from sadness, joy, or simply witnessing someone else's struggles. Her compassion extended not only to those closest to her, but to anyone in need of understanding, kindness, or support. She had a unique way of making people feel heard, valued, and cared for.

Justine is now reunited with her beloved pup, Rupert, as well as her grandparents and great-grandparents who predeceased her. The pain, challenges, and obstacles she carried are finally behind her. She is at peace.

In lieu of flowers, and in honour of Justine's generous spirit, donations may be made to the Women & Children's Shelter of Barrie at https://barrieshelter.com.

In recognition of the brave EMS and fire services personnel who provided compassionate and timely care to Justine, Adam also asks that family and friends consider supporting the County of Simcoe Paramedic Services Food and Toy Drive this holiday season.

Though our hearts are broken, we take comfort in the love, laughter, and memories Justine leaves behind. She will be missed beyond words, loved beyond measure, and remembered always.

Always in our hearts, never forgotten.
