Simon P. Stolte

Simon P. Stolte, 69, passed away at Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie, Ontario on August 2, 2026, after a battle with cancer.

Born May 8, 1957, in Hawkesbury, Ontario, he resided in Thornton for nearly 50 years. Simon worked at Hawman Container Services in Barrie for the last 10 years. He spent many years on the racing circuit at Barrie Speedway, Sunset, Sauble Beach, Varney, Delaware, Mosport and Peterborough. His greatest achievement was winning five consecutive championships at Barrie Speedway 1986-87-88-89-90 in Sportsman Late Model. His heart was in racing, building cars, trailers, and setting up cars for other racers.

Predeceased by father, Philippus Hendrik Stolte and mother, Anje (Huizenga) Stolte and was the beloved friend of Joan Andross. Special thanks to the Vandervinne family.

As per Simon’s wishes there will be no service or celebration of life.
