It is in deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mary Lynn Evans; a woman with boundless energy and intelligence. Mary Lynn was born on December 13, 1949, and was transitioned from this life on August 24, 2026. She was mother to all who needed one. Through her journey of 76 years, she touched the hearts of everyone she met with her cooking, baking and love that she gave.
Mary Lynn is survived by her loving husband of 53 wonderful years, Peter. Mary Lynn was the mother of Caroline, predeceased, and Sharon and Michael. Beloved granny of Leighton, Michael, Brianna, Parker, Annabelle, Brody and Leo. Dear sister of Barbara (the late Dave), Michael (Elanor), Blayne (Linda), and Keith (Susan). Mary Lynn was predeceased by her parents Michael and Gertrude Neilon.
Mary Lynn was born in Toronto and grew up in Midland. She worked at The Bank of Montreal, first in Toronto then in Barrie, when she met Peter and lived in Barrie ever since.
Mary Lynn’s greatest joy was her grandchildren. She loved spending time with them, taking them to parks, swimming at the beach, baking them birthday cakes and having fun with them.
Mary Lynn will be remembered by her family for her kindness and generosity and her devotion to her family.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
