Margaret Ruth Roberts

Margaret Ruth Roberts, 82, passed away peacefully at Royal Victoria Health Centre, Barrie Ontario on September 13, 2026, after a short battle with Cancer.

Margaret was addressed by her middle name Ruth and was born in Red Bank, New Brunswick on December 6, 1943, to Ronald Francis Taylor and Rubina Mary Newton.  Ruth was widowed to Douglas Roberts from Roddicton Newfoundland.

Ruth lived in Toronto, Huntsville, Bracebridge and Barrie Ontario.  She resided in Cochrane Alberta for the last 4 years but recently returned to Barrie, Ontario. Ruth was a loving Wife, Mother, Sister, Grandma, Nana and Gigi to her family.  Ruth was a member of the Salvation Army, York Temple Corps through the 1970/80’s and continued to support the communities where she lived.

Ruth touched many lives and was deeply loved by all who had the privilege of knowing her.  Her kindness and calm, generous spirit left a lasting mark on all who knew her.  She will be remembered for her compassion and her quiet ways as she made the world a better place.  Ruth will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

Survivors include Children, Rick Roberts (Elaine), Tammy Roberts (Jeff), Glen Roberts (Lisa).  Grand Children include Corey (Rachel), Matthew (Tatiana), Christa (Dean), Sasha (Nick), Brandon (Pearl), Daniel, Cassidy, Owen.  Great Grand Children include Maverick, Ariya, Olivia, Dominic, Luca. Siblings include Marion, Ethel, Joe, Betty, Keith, Lee, Evelyn and Kevin.  Ruth was predeceased by brother Harry and sister Doris.

Special thanks to the many friends and staff of Hawthorne by Optima Living in Cochrane, Alberta for the friendships and care given to Ruth during her stay at Hawthorne.

In accordance with Ruth’s wishes there will be no funeral services.  A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  Details to be shared with friends and family.
