It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Cory Cornelisse, who passed away at home on September 11, 2026, at the age of 62.
He leaves behind his father, Adrian Cornelisse; his sisters, Margaret Connor (Brent) and Darlene Works (Rod); his daughter Sarah McCulla (Patrick); and his cherished granddaughter Kennedy.
Preceded in death by his mother, Tina Cornelisse.
Born June 27, 1964 in Scarborough Ontario, lived in Oro-Medonte and worked at Northern Electronic and Appliance Services Inc. for many years where he became a valued member of the team. He formed many meaningful friendships there and will be greatly missed by the NEAS community.
Family was an important part of Cory’s life. He was a loving son and brother and cherished the special relationship he shared with his daughter. Becoming a grandpa was one of the greatest joys in his life and he treasured every moment with his granddaughter over the past year.
Cory had a lifelong love of sports and the outdoors. He grew up playing sports and carried that passion with him throughout life always enjoying a good game and cheering on the Pittsburgh Penguins. He was happiest spending time outdoors whether fishing, golfing or just working in the yard. These simple passions were an important part of who he was and created many memories that his family will carry with them. He will be deeply missed by his entire family and all those who knew and loved him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Barrie Curling Club, 175 Essa Rd., Barrie on September 27, 2026 from 1-4 pm. Family and friends are welcome to join us in remembering and celebrating Cory’s life.
