It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Wilhelm “Wim” de Vries on September 30, 2026, at Matthews House Hospice, at the age of 88.
Beloved husband of the late Beverley “Bev” de Vries. Loving father of Edward (Sierd), Warren, Jeff, Sam (Debra), Peter, Rob, Julie (Dan), Jim (Ann), and Lori (Bill). Cherished grandfather of Michael, Nicole, Melissa, Stephen, Jeremy, Adam, Kyle, Hannah, Jaimie-Lee, Amanda, Cecilia, Thomas, Kelsey, and Megan.
Proud great-grandfather of Brooklyn, Warren, Nicolas, Hudson, Annalee, Simon, Reid, Alyvia, Wyatt, Wayne, Kip, Coast, Sunny, Hugh, Jack, Molly, and Kaylyn.
He leaves to mourn his brothers Gerben (Ellen), Henk (Jante), and Ted (Pam); his dear sister-in-law Anne Loweryson (Nils); and his niece Helen, daughter of his late brother Pieter de Vries.
Wim was predeceased by his beloved wife, Beverley; his parents, Pieter and Trijntje de Vries; and his siblings, Meta (Rien), Harry (Aly), and Pieter (Loes).
Wim will be remembered and missed dearly by his family and friends. His memory will live on through the many lives he touched and the family he loved so deeply.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life on Friday, October 16, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Barrie Country Club, 635 St. Vincent St. N.

He was a great guy and enjoyed working with him at Irvine’s, he always made me laugh.
He was also a great installer.
