Cecille Denise Bunford

Cecille Bunford passed away peacefully on October 4, 2026, at the age of 86.

Born on April 29, 1940, in Kingston, Jamaica, Cecille was the beloved daughter of the late Oswald and Veronica Thompson.

She will be deeply missed by her children; Wayne (Donna), Robert (Kristine), Deborah, and Jonathan (Cinthia).  She was a proud and loving grandmother to; Chantelle, Caitlin, Teagan, Jack, Tyler, Evan, and Aliana.  Cecille will also be lovingly remembered by her sisters (Patsy, Betty, Rosemary and Daniah) and her many family members and dear friends.

Cecille is predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert Bunford.

Throughout her life, Cecille was known for her warmth and love of life.  She had many interests, with her most recent passion being golf.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Barrieview and Barrie Manor for their care and compassion.

A small service will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2026 at Midhurst Union Cemetery, from 11:00am to 11:30am, (1444 St Vincent St, Midhurst, ON) followed by a Celebration of Cecille’s Life from 1:00pm to 4:00pm, at the Barrie Golf & Country Club in the Dining Room (635 St Vincent St N, Barrie, ON).  If you are unable to attend and would be interested in joining us virtually, please reach out to the family.
