Barbara Ann Lloyd

Funeral Details: A private service will be held by the family, with a Celebration of Life to follow at a later date.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Barbara Ann Lloyd, on August 24, 2025.

Beloved daughter of Gwylmn Thomas Lloyd and Winifred Myfanwy Lloyd. The devoted mother of Charles Thomas Lloyd and cherished sister of Kenneth Lloyd.

A lifelong educator, Barbara served as the respected Principal of Barrie Eastview Secondary School, where she dedicated her career to guiding and inspiring countless students. Beyond the classroom, she was also a passionate equestrian, serving as a long-time instructor and mentor to many young riders, instilling in them not only skill but also a love for the sport.

She will be remembered for her kindness, wisdom, and tireless devotion to both her family and her community. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched as an educator, mentor, and friend.

A private service will be held by the family, with a Celebration of Life to follow at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.

    She was my first riding instructor and also my son’s first instructor. That was about 35 years ago. And I still ride. She will be missed by so many as she touched so many lives over the years.

    Memories of fun times at Powys Hall with Barb will remain in the hearts of many. Her love and skill in the equestrian sport was shared and appreciated by many.

    I had the pleasure of being taught by Barb when Powys Hall was around. Was the best years of my life. She then became my children’s principal at Eastview. She was an amazing woman will be missed💗
