Beverley June Murray (née Sweeney), age 74, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2025, in Barrie, Ontario, the city where she was born and spent her life surrounded by those she loved.  Born on June 27, 1951, in Barrie, Beverley was the daughter of Norman Sweeney and Irene Sweeney.  She grew up in a large and lively family, sharing her early years with her siblings Linda, Norma-Jean, Brian, Jimmy, Dale, and her late brothers Norman, Edward, and Barry. Her roots in Barrie remained strong throughout her life as she built a home filled with warmth and laughter.

Beverley's greatest joy came from being with her family.  She was a devoted mother to her daughter Anna McGrath (Adam) and sons Paul Murray (Alyssa) and Dustyn Murray.  Her love extended deeply to her grandchildren - Jayden (Ashlei), Kaitlyn, Jesse, Christian, Mia, and Aiden - and to her cherished great-granddaughters Lilly and Sydney.  Beverley also held a special place in her heart for her many nieces and nephews who brought added joy to family gatherings.  Known for her big heart and forgiving nature, Beverley had a gift for making people feel welcome and understood. Her sense of humour brightened every room she entered.

Whether it was sharing stories over a cup of Tim Hortons coffee or enjoying a meal from Swiss Chalet - her favorites - she found happiness in life's simple pleasures.

She loved quiet moments spent reading or working through search-a-word puzzles.

But above all else, Beverley treasured time spent with her children and grandchildren.  Her presence at family events was constant and comforting source of strength and unconditional love.

Beverley's legacy is one of compassion, resilience, and unwavering devotion to those she held dear.  Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.  May Beverley's memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Traditions Banquet Hall (142 John St. Barrie, Ont.)
