It is with heavy hearts that the family of Brian Vink announces his passing on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at the age of 93 years.
Loving husband of Johanna, married for 69 years. Beloved father of Paul (Karen), Marty (Lindy) and his late son; Ronnie. He was predeceased by his dear brother Joop (Tineke). Proud Opa of Ellie and Jonty.
Brian will be sadly missed by his many friends from the Ganaraska Hiking Club, The Dutch Coffee Club and the Tollendale Retirement Community.
Brian was born in Almelo in the Netherlands and emigrated to Canada in 1955. He worked at Devilbiss for many years. Brian loved Barrie and its outdoors, even in winter! Condolence messages can be left for the family at www.peacefultransition.ca

Posted on: Tuesday, September 23, 2025My condolences to the Vink family.
I hiked with Brian many years ago on various trails.
I recall one hike, l believe it was near Big Chute but l could be wrong, and a lady in the party slipped on rock and l believe it was her femur she cracked. Brian along with two others took turns carrying her out on their shoulders. Brian being so tall and with her on his shoulders it was a scary trip out. No hesitation, just did what had to be done. Good man.
Warm regards,
Linda

I will never forget his sense of humour, patience and grace.

Posted on: Wednesday, September 24, 2025Our deep felt condolences to the Vink family.
Lean on each other in these times and spend hours telling stories of a wonderful man at the head of the family, showing by action how to navigate life with kindness and empathy.
My Mum, Elisabeth de Jong nee Tecklenburg, wanted to send her condolences too to Marty and family as she always loved hearing of Barrie and the connection through the Vink’s.
From here in New Zealand we all send our love and support. Xxx

Posted on: Friday, September 26, 2025To Joke, Paul, Marty and all family members, our deepest sympathy for your loss.
We moved to Barrie 18 years ago, did not know anyone. Soon we met Joke and Brian at the Dutch Coffee Club. I vividly remember thinking, I hope they’re going to be our friends. We joined their bike club and get togethers with a small Dutch group at each other’s house, were always most enjoyable. Brian was the nicest guy to be around with, always friendly, always being himself. We will miss you dear friend, rest in peace.
We’re wishing Joke and family strength in this most sad and difficult time.
Co and Anna.

Posted on: Sunday, September 28, 2025We are sorry to hear the news. Brian was always a wonderful neighbour. Dad is still across the street, so we see the old house and think of the Vinks regularly.
