Grant went to be with the Lord June 6, 2025 with his wife by his side. Born in Winnipeg, MN to Gerry Desins and Betty Bannab. Grant grew up in Winnipeg, MN San Deigo, CA and then Barrie, ON, where he met his wife of 52 yrs. He leaves behind 2 daughters Carol (Clint) Fraser and Nicole Despins. He was popa to 5 grandchildren, Chloe, Carson, Brandi (Joe), Katelyn (Donald) and Ty.

Survived by his sister Brenda (Brian) and brother Paul (Patsy) and is predeceased by his parents and by his brothers, Brian and Bob (Joye).

Grant dedicated 33 years of his life to Pliant Corp., followed by six years driving a school bus for Hammond Transportation. He truly loved his time with the children on his bus, cherishing the drawings they gave him and the bonds he formed with them—leaving a lasting impression on each one.

Grant loved to fish with his buddies, Fred Cox, Jeff, and Ron. Their friendly rivalry over who could catch the biggest fish was a constant source of fun and laughter.

Known for his friendly wave and cheerful “Hi” to everyone he met, Grant was a man who deeply loved his children, grandchildren, and many others he treated like his own. He is fondly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews and by all those whose lives he touched. He worked hard to keep everyone connected, and his legacy of warmth and togetherness lives on.

Special thanks to the doctors and nurses at Parry Sound Health Centre and Sudbury hospital.

Memorial contributions to the charity of your choice, would be much appreciated by the family.
