Born Wednesday, December 13, 1950, at home in Deseronto, Ontario, the third of four children and the sole boy, David Allen Grange passed away Friday, June 17, 2016, following a fearless and tenacious battle against early-onset Alzheimer's disease.
Allen was a jovial and generous family man and entrepreneur who loved food and loved to cook (especially desserts of all kinds -- cookies, cakes, pies, donuts, you name it, he'd make it -- and most often without a recipe!). He loved animals and spent a lifetime building and renovating, always with an eye toward craftsmanship and quality work. He was happiest making others laugh or taking a partner across the dance floor.
Our beloved dad had a joke for every situation or circumstance, and helped raise three beautiful, smart and witty children, all of whom share his spirited sense of humour. He is survived by his children, Ashleigh (Chad) Grange, Courtney Grange, and David (Ashley) Grange; sisters Barbara (Carl) Whaley, Brenda (Ron) Regan, and Debby (Greg) Panke; and his former wife of 27 years and mother of his children, Rosemary Palmquist. He is predeceased by his parents, Dorothy Elizabeth Grange (nee Jackson) and James Robert Grange, of Brighton, Ontario.
Our family would like to gratefully thank the nurses, PSWs, doctors and other staff at Mill Creek Care Centre in Barrie for their care, professionalism and kindness over the years.
"A well-developed sense of humor is the pole that adds balance to your step as you walk the tightrope of life."
William Arthur Ward
