David “Dave” George Balasko

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dave after a short and courageous battle with cancer on November 23, 2025.

Dave leaves behind his beloved wife of 27 years, Annette; his children Caitlyn, Matthew, Ashely, David, and Danielle; his brother Rick; and his very special nephew Jim.  He was a proud grandfather to five grandchildren: Dakota, Saidie, Elijah, Oliver, and Finn.

Dave was a man of few words, but when he spoke, he spoke honestly, always with no filter.  He was extremely stubborn and strong-willed, right to the very end.  He loved football and was a dedicated Miami Dolphins fan.

An outdoor enthusiast through and through, Dave found joy in what he liked to call “taking his guns for a walk” and giving his fishing poles “a boat ride.”  He worked on the railway for several years before following in his grandfather’s footsteps and pursuing a career in construction.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to his nurse Stephanie from Bayshore for her care and compassion, and to Peaceful Transition for helping make the final steps easier for all of them.

In keeping with Dave’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

“Driving Along Singing a Song” — may he rest in eternal peace.  He will be deeply missed by many.
