Desiderio Caranci

April 17, 1937 - May 22, 2025

Funeral Details: Private family arrangements

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Desiderio Caranci announces his passing on May 22, 2025, at the age of 88.

Son of the late Vitalino and Tomassina, Desiderio was the beloved husband of the late Joyce Caranci (2014).  He was a devoted father to Laura (Mike), Tina, Julie, and Desi; cherished Pop to T.J., Damien (Lauren), Tabitha (Alex), Zakary (Courtney); and proud Great-Pop to Michael and Ava.  He was also the loving brother of Dominic (predeceased) (Pasqualina) and Anna (predeceased Pat).

Desiderio will be fondly remembered for his unique way of showing love—often through his humour, sarcasm, and strong presence.  He had a quick wit, a love of cold Brava beer, and a work ethic that was second to none.  Desiderio was happiest when he was working, and boy could he work.  He found joy in the simple pleasures: time at the casino, meals shared with family, and cooking his famous pasta (often accompanied by a few colourful words).  He was known to give food to the homeless, always looking out for those in need.  A man with a generous heart, Desiderio also volunteered with Habitat for Humanity for over a decade.  His love for food was only surpassed by the love he had for his family and his late wife, whom he missed dearly every day since her passing.

He was also a devoted “Daddy” to Oscar, his special cat and constant companion, who will miss him deeply.

As per Desiderio's wishes, a cremation has taken place and a private inurnment will be held with immediate family only.  The Caranci family appreciates all the thoughts and prayers and welcomes any memories to be shared online at www.peacefultransition.ca.

Forever loved, forever remembered.
