Posted on: Tuesday, February 9, 2016My condolences to Marsh, Karen, Greg and Scott and your families.
I have many fond memories of Dorothy (I’m now old enough I feel comfortable calling her by her first name, but I never did it to her face), especially at meal times when I’d be invited to stay. In our youth, Greg and I used to end up coming back to his parents’ place at all hours of the night on Fridays or Saturdays and then play games or talk until near dawn when we’d then sleep late the next morning. She was very long-suffering about that. (Earl not so much.)
And when I’d be around when Hockey Night in Canada was on TV, she was the only one who didn’t disparage me for cheering for any team but the Leafs.
In her later years, when I would visit her occasionally in the various homes where she lived, she invariably asked me to pray with her. Then I’d get a hug before I left.
Rest in peace, Mrs. Laing

Posted on: Tuesday, February 9, 2016To Marshall, Gregory, Karen and Scott – my deepest condolences on the loss of your mother and grandmother.
I will always remember Dear Aunt Dorothy as a loving and caring soul who deeply loved her Lord and Saviour. I know her faith brought her both strength and happiness. He has welcomed her Home to be with Uncle Earl and all those who have gone before.
May you find comfort in the sharing of your warm and cherished memories.

I remember being little and whenever Sarah and I would go visit them on Newton St, we would always comment on what was about to happen before we entered their door. Sure enough, there they’d be, ready to deliver their bone-cracking hugs. As painful as it was then, I miss them. What I’d give for another.
Sending love to my father greg, dy and sarah, my aunt and uncles, and my cousins.
