Douglas William Jagges

January 24, 1936 - December 29, 2023

Funeral Details: A Celebration of Life will be held at the Masonic Lodge in Barrie, 99 Morrow Rd., on January 3, 2024, from 2 - 4pm. 

Douglas, Barrie resident since 1964, at the age of 87, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2023, at the IOOF.  Douglas was the beloved husband of Margaret Jagges (April 26, 2023) for 67 years; and the loving father of Linda (Gill) Feltis, Susan (Mark) Hollingsworth, Elizabeth Smith, and Karen Jagges.  He was also the cherished grandfather of 11, and great-grandfather of 7.  He will be missed and remembered also by nieces and nephews, especially Carol and Richard.

Doug will be thought of through his many contributions to the City of Barrie, as Founder of The Scottish Rite Charitable Foundation Learning Center for dyslexia, Victoria Village Manor, the Allendale Recreation Center, and as City Alderman.  He will be deeply missed by all that knew him.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Masonic Lodge in Barrie, 99 Morrow Rd., on January 3, 2024, from 2 - 4pm.
