Passed away peacefully at Mariposa House Hospice, Orillia, Ontario, on December 25, 2025.
Beloved and loving husband to Marlene, devoted father to Angelique and Andrea, and proud grandpa to Jake.
Born in Budapest on November 15, 1939, Emerick came to Canada on his own in 1959, beginning a life marked by courage, perseverance, and deep gratitude.
Emerick was a generous and spiritual man, a devoted family man who would sacrifice anything for those he loved. He had a great appreciation for the English language, finding joy in its nuances, and was especially fond of a clever pun, always ready to share a smile or laugh.
A celebration of Emerick’s life will be held in January, with details to be announced.

Posted on: Monday, January 5, 2026I was blessed to have Emerick, Marlene, Angelique and Andrea in my life for the past several years. Emerick was always there to help whenever I needed plans drawn, something built or fixed. Stella and I would never have made it through puppyhood without Marlene, Emerick and of course her idol Beni and she cherished them from day one. Stella has an amazing life and she gets to call 2 places home. At 12 weeks old Stella had managed to get Emerick wrapped around her little paws and he would go out and shovel a path through piles of snow so she could safely run all the way around the back yard!
Thank you for everything Poppa!

Posted on: Tuesday, January 6, 2026Emerick always called me “the lady on the rock.” My house is literally on a rock. 🤪 He was always using puns and riddles! He was a very warm and kind man to all people, the door was always open. His love and respect for Marlene and his daughters was very evident. A beautiful family that I’ve known and felt a part of for many years.
So sorry for your loss! 😢🫂
