Marg, a volunteer at Grove Park, was thoughtful enough to let me know of Ethel’s passing. She had such a beautiful Irish “lilt” I loved to hear her speak. Even though I know she was not at her best when I knew her it was obvious that she had a “wicked” sense of humor. She will be missed I know but never forgotten. All the best to you Harold, Wendy and family. Susan

Posted on: Friday, June 23, 2017My Dear Harold…..just last week you and dear Ethel came to mind and I was wondering where you both were and how you were doing…I wasn’t sure you were living in the home where I visited you a number of years ago….and then last evening I read the announcement of Ethel’s passing …..I am so sorry for your loss though from the little in the announcement I gather that both Ethel and you and your family ( I remember meeting Wendy and Michael and their children many years ago at Collier ) have suffered from her illness over these last years… Ethel will be at peace now…but you have lost your sweet and lovely Irish lass…..life will seem empty without her Harold…..I pray you will look after yourself and the little I know about Wendy she will watch over you….this is a quote from a Scottish preacher born in 1600…died in 1661…Samuel Rutherford wrote ” She …Ethel …is not sent away, but only sent before, like unto a star, which going out of your sight, doth not die and vanish, but shineth in another hemisphere: ye see her not, yet she doth shine in another country. ” ….. You will see her again Harold…..her spirit and soul are safe with Jesus ……I will keep you and your family in prayer dear Harold….be sure to eat and sleep and walk in the fresh air daily…..if you like let me know sometime how you are doing….I have no idea where you are…otherwise I would drop by with the homeopathic Ignatia for grief and loss…. it will ease it …it would help Wendy and her hubby and kids too ……kids who are certainly all grown up by now…I am in the phone book Harold (here’s my number…705 728 6927 ) and you will get my email address with this note if you use a computer ……I always enjoyed Ethel and you so much Harold..You both were delightful ………….I feel the pain in your loss ………love and prayers always…God will watch over all of you Harold………….edna ..PS Ethel will be reunited with your dear son that you lost so tragically…she never recovered from that loss Harold……..remember Ethel is shining in her new home ……I too will see her one day again…..I am recalling the story you both told me of how you met in Toronto….. God had His hand on both of your lives and still does…….take care my friend……edna
