It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jack Pearson, who passed away peacefully on July 6, 2025, at Huntsville Hospice.  He was 80 years old.

Born on January 8, 1945, in the Isle of Wight, Jack lived a life defined by generosity, joy, and unwavering kindness.  He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Jeanne Pearson, who passed away on June 29, 2010.

Jack leaves behind a loving family and legacy: his children Jayne Pearson, Elaine Vigneault (Andre Vigneault), and Steve Pearson; his grandchildren Tory, Sara Jane, Kayla, and Maddy; and his great-grandsons Adlai and Seiya.  He also held a special bond with his close extended family, the Charrons, whose daughter Danielle was cherished like one of his own, and whose little one, Layla, brought a smile to his face even in his final days.

Jack was a long-time resident of Kearney, Ontario, where he was deeply woven into the fabric of the community.  Known for his ever-present smile and boundless positivity, Jack touched countless lives by offering a helping hand, a listening ear, and a heart that never turned anyone away.  His warmth extended far beyond Kearney, where he nurtured a vast and devoted circle of friends.

We would like to extend special thanks to those who stood by Jack in his final chapter.  To his dear friends Bruce and Jill, his loyal “chariots” — thank you, Bumble.  To Carol, for sitting by his side, sharing memories, and keeping him company during his final days.  And to Bill, Jack’s personal chef and cherished friend — thank you for keeping his belly full and his heart warm.

A Celebration of Jack’s Life will be held in September 2025.  Details will be announced and shared in the coming weeks.

In honour of Jack, we ask that you take a moment to share a memory, lend a hand, or brighten someone’s day — just as he did, every chance he got.

I will never forget all the fun times we had together, playing Uno like we were professionals, Yahtzee like it was our day job. Taking me on hikes and showing me what a beautiful place we live in, all the fun adventures we took. Always being your silly, goofy, and loving authentic self . You were Always checking in on me when I’m going through something, sitting with me, our very special phone calls & our time spent together means everything to me. I love you too the moon & back. And thank you to EVERYONE who has been by papas side and who has supported him & us. Special thanks to my Mom, who I know papa appreciated so much for taking care of him and always making sure he was taken care of in his last moments.

We have known Jack and his family for 30+ years and being at their cottages is one of my fondest memories.
We got to see Jack last year and the year before. He was always big fan of Charlie and Charlie was equally as fond.
Jack had a really great accent and I loved the way he’d say “Charrrlie” (he had a thick isle of wight accent!).
Last time we were there Jack and Charlie had lots to talk about in the way of rocks and a little fluffy green caterpillar.
Jack felt more like family then he did a friend. Sometimes you’re lucky enough to meet kind, funny, outgoing, warm souls such as Jack – we were lucky enough to! ❤️
Jack we hope you are at peace now and are glad you’re no longer in pain.
We send your family so much love and big hugs. Noone will ever measure up to Jack – he was one of a kind and had such an amazing heart and soul.
