Jean Claude Boulanger of Barrie Ontario, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2026, at the age of 82. Born in Timmins, Ontario, he was the devoted husband of Marilyn for 56 years, loving father of his daughters Marlyss (Dr. Dean Morellato), Marnie (Shaun Roberts), and proud grandfather of Mason Morellato.
He is survived by his siblings Jacqueline (Denis), Paula, and Denis (Darlene), sisters in law Claudette and Helene, many nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Leo and Yvette Boulanger, brothers Jean-Guy and Paul, his in laws Ted and Mary Caza, and brother-in-law Richard.
A lifelong friend, Roger Dubien, shared decades of friendship and a love of classic cars.
Claude began working young, painting for his father's contracting business along with his brothers Guy and Paul. Later began his career at the Natural Gas Company as a gas fitter, meter reader and advocated for his coworkers as a union steward for many years. He knew every house in the Timmins area and was well known for his friendly demeanor.
Some of his fondest memories were spent in the bush with his best friend and brother Jean-Guy. His nephew Mark and Marlyss would tag along blueberry picking, fishing, hunting, and harvesting Christmas trees for family, friends, and neighbours to enjoy during the holidays.
Claude never missed a game, attending Mason's sporting events along side his parents and cherished quieter moments with his grandson collecting cards, listening to music, and hearing Mason play guitar. No project was too big or small for Claude, he could fix anything, painted with precision, built Mason a cabin, install hardwood floors and even help build an outdoor pizza oven. He was known to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it and arrived early with bells on.
Deeply devoted to those he loved, Claude was always there when it mattered most, his work tireless. Though he is gone from our sight, his values, kindness, and steady presence will continue to guide us.
