My condolences to Joyce and the other members of Jim’s family. Jim was President of the Barrie Legion when I joined six years ago. He cared for the Legion and for the purposes that the Legion stood for. He encouraged me to get involved and to take action. I will always remember him with the greatest respect.

How do I explain myself?  In 1967 I was an Air Cadet from Prince George, B.C.
I attended the Senior Leaders course at Camp Borden, Ontario.  I was a great summer, for all of Canada, and especially for me.  If I remember right, there were eight in each barrack room.  In my room was Jim Strang of Barrie.  We had great fun that summer and especially the last evening there.  Jim picked myself and another Cadet up and took us for a tour of Barrie.

Over the years, I often thought of that summer and the fellows I spent that summer with.  Last spring, I actually looked for Jim on Facebook, but found nothing.  This morning I thought I would Goggle him.  I am sorry to read the sad news.  Looking at his picture, I would say he never changed in appearance.

I extend my belated condolences to his family and friends.

    Kevin Rhodes,

    Kamlops, BC
