Funeral Details: Private Family Arrangements

Judith passed away on July 5, 2023 in Barrie, ON after bravely battling Alzheimer’s and Covid.  She was born in Toronto to parents Gordon and Margaret Kelk.  She is survived by Alan, her loving husband of 53 years; and her children, Suzanne (Thane), Stephen, and Amy (Rob); and grandchildren Michael, Sarah, Connor, Ryan, Cameron, and Stephen.

Judith was a wonderful cook and an avid gardener.  She was also a keen bridge player and for a few years she taught beginner’s bridge.  She excelled at anything she put her hand to.  She loved to relate that she and Alan had lived in twenty-three homes in four countries in their married life.  In a number of these locations, she volunteered for a variety of good causes.

Judith will be sadly missed by family and friends.  In accordance with Judith’s wishes there will be no funeral service.  Following her cremation, a private family gathering will be held in Celebration of her Life.

Donations to the Alzheimer’s Society or to Hospice Simcoe, Barrie will be gratefully accepted in her memory.  Online memories and condolences may be shared at www.peacefultransition.ca, 16-431 Bayview Dr., Barrie, ON, L4N 8Y2

So very sorry to hear of Judith’s passing. Fond memories of her making tourtieres in St. Luke’s kitchen, as well as her leadership in challenging us to offer recipes for “Edible Offerings”.
