Funeral Details: Private Family Arrangements

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kevin George Moores, who died peacefully at home in Utopia, ON, on Monday, April 28th, 2025, at the age of 74, after a long and courageous battle with Leukaemia.

Kevin was born on January 20th, 1951, in Botwood, Newfoundland. He grew up in Botwood but later made his home in Ontario.  His work took him around the world under contract with the Canadian government until his retirement in 2018.

Kevin is survived by his daughter Pamela (Denny), his son Danny (Ewa), and his two grandchildren, Nicole (Daniel) and Angelina.  He is also lovingly remembered by his great grand-son Kane, as well as many brothers and sisters who hold him close in their hearts.

At Kevin’s request, a Celebration of Life was held while he was still with us, and there will be no funeral service.  However, relatives and friends are welcome to share a tribute to Kevin at https://www.peacefultransition.ca/obituary/kevin-moores/

Memorial contributions are not requested.  The family simply asks that you keep Kevin in your hearts, cherishing the mark he left on every life he touched.

A special thank you to the nurses and doctors at Hudson Regional Cancer Center in Barrie, ON, for their love and care of Kevin during his battle.

I will always remember the fun summers we’d spend together when Kevin came to work on our family farm. Although, we lost touch over the years, I always thought of Kevin with admiration and respect. Throughout our lives we meet people who have a large impact on who we become. Uncle Kev, you were a big inspiration in my life. When I was young, you helped me with a job. We traveled far and wide over this globe together. You may not have realized how much of a impact you had in my life. Today I stand proud to say that I am a great man, with great values, because of you. I love you Uncle Kev. Till we meet again.

Kevin was such a happy and appreciative person, always so grateful for everything in his life. His smile and laughter were infectious—you couldn’t help but feel good when you were around him. I feel lucky to have had the chance to visit his cabin with him and Pamela and to see firsthand how much joy it brought him. Hearing his stories and seeing his deep love for nature, hunting, and family made a lasting impression on me. Kevin’s warmth, joy, and gratitude for life are things I will never forget. He will be deeply missed. Love ya Pops xoxo

He was truly one of a kind, the kind of person you’re lucky to meet once in a lifetime. Kevin had a way of lighting up any room he walked into. His laugh was infectious, his smile unforgettable, and his spirit brought people together in the most beautiful way. Kev made every memory brighter and every heart lighter. We love you so much and will miss you more than words can say. Thank you for being you, so genuine, so full of life, and so dearly loved. Until we meet again Kev.
