Passed away peacefully on July 15, 2025, at the age of 86.
Daughter of the late Abl and Margaret Winecker, Margaretha was the beloved wife of Reinhold Nink, who predeceased her in 2024. She was the loving mother of Monika Nink and her partner, Will Ferreira.
Margaretha immigrated to Canada from Germany in the late 1950s to reunite with Reinhold, who had come ahead in 1957. They married in 1958 and built a life rooted in love, resilience, and partnership that spanned 65 years.
A true self-starter, Margaretha was one of the first Avon ladies in her neighbourhood. She and Reinhold later opened a furniture store showcasing his original designs and her talent as an interior designer. She later became a top sales associate at the Hudson’s Bay Company, where her dedication and personal touch left a lasting impression.
Creative and curious, Margaretha also had a love of painting. She took oil painting classes and showed a real talent—something many wish she had pursued more in her later years. She also enjoyed gardening when able and was known for her delicious home baking.
Strong in spirit—resilient, hardworking, and occasionally affectionately stubborn—Margaretha brought heart to everything she did. Her deep love for her family and her devotion to her husband were unwavering. It brings peace to know she is now reunited with the love of her life. Their passion for travel and their shared adventures have left behind a legacy of cherished memories.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held.
