Marianne (Gigi),(nee Thomas)
Passed away peacefully at home on June 6th at the ripe old age of 89. Born May 28, 1925, in Cape Town, South Africa. Daughter of the late Stephen Thomas and Jennie Thomas, both of Welsh descent.
Beloved Wife of the late Ernest William Begg Kleinsteiber, and dear Mother of George Kleinsteiber (Diane) and Mary-Jean Amon (Alan) and devoted Gigi to Tara (Craig), Paul (Hellen) Beth (Graham) and Stephen, and great-grandchildren, Dylan, Brooke, Paris, Sophie, Paige and William. Loving sister of the late Stephen Thomas and the late Ruth Stone (John).
Proud member of the W.R.N.S. serving in England, Malta and Italy. Graduated from Clarks' College, Ilford, England, qualifying as a Secretary in business administration. Long-time member of Collier Street United Church. Marianne volunteered and taught drama and speech therapy at Goodfellow School in Alcona Beach for 11 years. She also enjoyed music and the theatre and loved to make people laugh. Marianne was a member of and curled at Thornhill Country Club for 12 years and then at the Barrie Curling Club for 6 years.
A celebration of life will be held at Willow Pines in Innisfil on July 5th beginning at 12 noon, followed by a High Tea. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Seasons Centre for Grieving Children www.grievingchildren.com or the Barrie Chapter of the Ontario Humane Society www.ontariospca.ca.
