Michael John Vanderlinde

November 27, 1976 - April 30, 2025

Funeral Details: A Celebration of His Life will take place on a later date.

Michael John Vanderlinde, 48, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on April 30, 2025.

Mike – a loving husband, devoted father, brother, uncle, son and loyal friend – was born on November 27, 1976 and was raised by his grandparents in Bradford, Ontario.  Mike married his high school sweetheart (Heather), and they built a beautiful, happy life together for almost thirty years with their two teenage sons (Mikey 18 and Ben 15).  More than anything, Mike was incredibly proud of his sons, and his family meant everything to him.

Everywhere Mike went, people were drawn to his generous heart, easy going nature, sense of humour and great personality.  Mike had many life-long friendships and was a kind, fun, and loving person who was always willing to help others.  Known for his quick wit and hilarious one liners, Mike was always up for an adventure, whether it was taking a last-minute trip, BBQing with friends, camping, anything to do with cars, dirt biking, sitting around a campfire or singing karaoke.

Mike is survived by his wife Heather, sons Mikey and Ben, father John (Lauri), brother Chris (Lori), sister Robin (Mike), sister Bonnie (Steve), mother and father-in-law (Beverley and Jim), sister and brother-in-law (Deanna and Will), brother and sister-in-law (Jim and Denice), his grandparents (Hennie and John), the brothers he choose in life (Jeff, Roddie, Paul and Daunt), as well as numerous friends, nephews, nieces and loved ones.  He is predeceased by Sharon Powis, who was like a mother to him.

At Mike’s request we will be having a Celebration of Life at a later date to truly honour the wonderful husband, father and man that Mike was.

Our heartfelt thanks to the Hudson Cancer Center, Matthew’s Hospice and Mike’s nurse Shannon.

    Hi Heather

    I am sorry for your loss. I remember when Mike decided to stay home to look after your boys. I thought that was wonderful. Glad he had the time with them and you.

    MICHAEL

    They say there is a reason
    They say time will heal;
    Neither time or reason
    Will change the way I feel.
    Gone are the days
    We used to share,
    But in my heart
    You are always there.
    The gates of memories
    Will never close;
    I miss you more than
    Anybody knows…
    Love and miss you everyday
    Till we meet again
    Always & Forever (Author Unknown)

    LOVE YOUR DAD
