PHYLLIS RICHARDS
1926 - 2015
With family by her side, passed away peacefully December 16, 2015 at Mill Creek Care Centre, Barrie, Ontario. Phyllis (Phyl) Mary Richards (Webb), beloved wife of Don Richards (2001) for 52 very happy and loving years. Cherished Mum of Cathy Thompson, and Steven Richards (Carol). Loved grandmother of Julie (Sebastian), Brian, Kellen and Glen. Sister of Virginia Picard (Harold-2007). In her younger years, Phyl sang with the Lesley Bell Singers, and participated in several beauty pageants. Later in life, she played golf, tennis, and for many years was an active member of the Richmond Hill Curling Club where she not only curled, but played guitar in the curling club band. She was creative and loved crafting and painting. One of Phyl’s favorite spots was the family cottage in Orillia where many fond memories had their beginning. Over the years, Phyl was employed with General Foods, Canada’s Wonderland, McMichael Collection and Royal Trust.
We are grateful to the staff at Mill Creek Care Centre for their kindness and compassion over the past five years. Phyl was a happy person, had a beautiful smile, and she will be deeply missed.
A celebration of life is being planned for next spring in Orillia, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Alzheimer Society of Simcoe County www.alzheimer.ca/SIMCOECOUNTY
