Funeral Details:

Robert Oakden (Rob), in his 67th year, passed away on December 12, 2017 at RVH surrounded by family.  Loving husband of 30 years to Linda. Pre-deceased by his father Gord and his smster Janet.  Survived by his mother Gwen, brothers Dave (Kathie), Jim (Karen), sister Cathy (Les), sister-in-law Susan (John).  Rob will be sadly missed by all his nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews, most especially by his niece Michelle and her sons Josh, Paxton & Jamison who will no longer share jokes or hear fun facts from their uncle Rob.  His friends at the Barrie Yacht Club, Snow Valley Ski School and CADS (Canadian Association for Disabled Skiers) will feel the void left without his unending patience, sense of humour and willingness to always help others. On Saturday, December 30, 2017, a celebration of life will be held between 1:30 – 4:00 at Sheba Shrine, 142 John St., Barrie.  Remembrances/service to start at 2:00.   In lieu of flowers, donations to Sunnybrook Foundation or RVH Foundation would be appreciated.    Per Rob’s style, casual dress please.  Messages of condolence can be left at www.peacefultransition.ca

    I’m very saddened to hear this news. I’m sorry I will not be able to attend the celebration of life as I’ll be out of the country but I know I will always miss him.
