Ross Lynch passed away peacefully on January 29th, at the age of 90, at Roberta Place LTC. He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 65 years, Helen Lynch (Nichols); his daughters Brenda Lynch and Heather Taylor; and as the beloved “#1 Papa” to Kaitlyn (Cobie) Taylor, all of Barrie. He is also survived by his sisters Hilda Neely of Barrie and Marion Stewart of Hamilton.
Born and raised on the Lynch family farm in Painswick, Ross was known for his honourable character and unwavering work ethic. He dedicated 34 years to General Tire in Barrie (formerly Mansfield Denman) and took on numerous part-time roles throughout his life, including with OPP Auxiliary, Cotty’s Cleaners, Fendley’s Flowers, Oro Fair Security, Elmsvale Sales Barns & Auctions, Barrie Baseball umpiring, Heidi’s Campground, and The Chairman on Highway 90. Ross was happiest when keeping busy—he simply never sat still.
After retiring, Ross and Helen enjoyed spending their winters at Golden Sun in Arizona, where he became well known for his volunteer contributions. Whether calling Bingos, directing parking, or ensuring the hall was perfectly arranged, Ross took pride in every task.
His daughters are deeply grateful for their father’s strength and the many ways his guidance helped shape their independence, confidence, and accomplishments in life.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff and management at Roberta Place LTC for their compassion, kindness, and the dedicated care provided to Ross and his loved ones over the past three and a half years.
Forever in our hearts. ❤️
Peaceful Transition Simcoe
