ARDIZZI, Salvatore

It is with profound sadness the Ardizzi family announces the passing of Salvatore Ardizzi on November 9, 2016 at the age of 70.  After a courageous and defiant battle with cancer, he passed away peacefully at home in Barrie, Ontario in the loving arms of his devoted wife of 34 years, Barbara and cherished sons Brad and Andrew.  Born August, 20, 1946 in Abruzzo, Italy, he is also survived by his twin brother Foscarino (Frances) and is pre-deceased by brother Ennio, Lena and mother Santina.  Beloved uncle to Michele, Rebecca, Filomena, Santino, Leonardo and the late Joe and Marilena.  He will be missed by many friends and family whose lives he touched.  The family would like to thank Dr. Crystal Luchkiw, nurses, PSW’s, and staff at Royal Victoria Hospitals’ Cancer Care Centre whose support and compassion contributed to his ongoing comfort.  The family has requested that any donations be made in Salvatore’s memory to the Simcoe Muskoka Regional Cancer program at Royal Victoria Hospital.  As per his wishes, cremation has taken place.  His remains will be kept in the family home and placed alongside his Toronto Maple Leaf’s hat and jersey so he can watch the Leaf’s play every Saturday night.  Messages of condolence can be left at www.peacefultransition.ca
